8. What are the ethics in using ICT device in the places of worship ?
9. Name aspects to be aware of in using a cellphone ?
10. Describe the advantage of using genuine software !

Answer !!!

  1. * Turn On the computer :
a.Ensure that all power cable in a computer are connected
b.Turn On the CPU by pressing the ON or Power button on the casing
c.Turn On the monitor by pressing the On or Power button on the monitor
d.Wait until the booting procedure is finished, which is shown by the desktop appearance on the monitor screen.
    * Shut Down on the computer :
    a. Close all active application programs.
    b. Click the Start button on the desktop menu.
    c. Click the Shut Down button
    d. Wait a moment until the computer is shutting down.
  2. a.Word Processor (Office Suite)
    b.Graphic Suite
    c.Multimedia
    d.Web Browser
  3. Computers are electronic appliances that could process data and produce information. Data is all input received by a computer. Data can be letters, numbers, graphs, diagrams, etc. Data in a computer is processed with programming language. All data will be converted into binary numbers in order to be read by the computer. The data that has been processed by computers are then converted into information. Information is a composition of data that is understood by human. If we go through on how the computer receives information, it is a cycle of information process. The cycle starts with a user, input, CPU, output, and back to the user. A user has to input data into CPU as the processor, then the data is processed into useful information within the CPU. After the process, output will be shown on the monitor. Output could be printed using the printer, and inthe form of voice when using the speaker.
  4. ROM ( Read Only Memory ). And the function of ROM is to save computer operation program, such as BIOS and booting.
  5. Notepad and Wordpad
  6. CF, SD, MMC, Memory Stick and xD
  7. a. Bus Topology
    b. Star Topology
    c. Ring Topology
  8. To avoid ICT device and To switch into silent or vibrate mode
  9. a. Use a handsfree device to reduce the electromagnetic wave. Even though it has not been clinically proven, electromagnetic wave can distrub brain cells and can cause cancer. Using cellphones for a long period of time can heat the ears.
    b. Do not use the cellphone while driving. Besides it is against the rule, it distracts the driver's concentration. IF it is really necessary to use cellphone, use a handsfree device.
    c. Do not use cellphone on a plane. The electromagnetic wave transmission distrubs the navigation system in the cabin that could cause a plane uncontrolled or lose direction
    d. Do not use a cellphone in a gas station. The warning is because it can break the cellphones or the filling up digital devices in the gas station.
  10. a. Free application software updates
    b. Official technician support
    c. Upgrade discount
    e. Software manual
f.Guaranteed free from virus and spyware

1. Name several factors that make someone prefer using illegal software.
*Low income, Low education level, The cost of a permit or licensed software is relatively expensive, Low law enforcement, Lack of awareness to use genuine software.
2. Describe the difference between etchis and morality in the society.
*Ethics are a concept of acknowledgement by the society towards human thoughts, which means that this concept evolves following men's true values. Whereas, morality is a code of conduct or a common conception of what is right according to the society.
3. What is meant by the patent rights of a product?
*Exclusive rights granted by the State to an Inventor of the Invention in the technology, which for a given period Invention implement their own or to give consent to another party to implement them.
4. Explain the correct position/posture to use a computer.
*The good sitting position is to sit on a seat with a back-rest, and the head is not so high in order to keep the linear distance with the monitor. The good viewing distance between a monitor and the eyes is around 46-47 cm.
5. What is the abbreviation oj HAKI?
*Hak Cipta dan Hak Atas Kekayaan Intelektual

  1. In ASCII code, by what code is letter W represented?
  2. Name and explain all supporting devices inside a CPU!
  3. What is the abbreviation and the function of ROM?
  4. Name three examples of network interface cards!
  5. Name and explain several cables that use on a wired network!
ANSWER!!!
  1. In ASCII code, the letter W is represented by the number code 87.
  2. - Control unit is to translate commands or intructions in a series and then continues theem to
    the entire computer parts.
    - Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) is to proces data by adding, subtracting, comparing, and using
    logical formal
    - Memory is to collect or to store data to run an application program.
  3. ROM ( Read Only Memory ). And the function of ROM is to save computer operation program, such as BIOS and booting.
  4. Ethernet, arcnet, and token ring.
  5. UTP Cable ( Unshield Twisted Pair ),it consist of a pair of plastic wrapped conductor and each is colored. The frequency ranges from 100 Hz to 5 MHz. A UTP connector is required to install UTP cable on network card, such as RJ 45 connector. The cost of UTP is relatively cheap.
STP Cable ( Shielded Twisted Pair ), STP cable is simillar with UTP cable, except that it has double wrap. The middle wrap is a metal shield or metal foil to avoid electromagnetic interference. Other than that, STP cable connector and UTP cable connector are a like.

Coaxial Cable, coaxial cable consists of main copper conductor with three wraps. The first and third are plastic wraps. The first and third conductor are isolator, while the second wrap in teh middle is a conductor. The connectors are BNC ( Bayonet Network Connector ), T-connector, and 50 ohm terminator. The terminator acts as a signal buffer in order not to obstruct the original signal.

Optical Fiber, Optical fiber is made of plastic or glass that acts as a medium for signal transmission in the form of light. Connector for the optical fiber is an FO connector. Optical fiber enabled data transmission spedd of 10 Mbps- 2 Gbps. Moreover, the signal range is farther than any other cable types and has a wider bandwith. The optical fiber is fragile and therefore difficult to be moved and isntalled, needs an expensive maintenance, and the cost of the optical fiber is relatively expensive.
